Visit the first cathedral of the new world named Santa Maria La Menor, Diego Columbus Alcazar, Las Damas street, and some other historical monuments around this 5th century colonial city. You will also have panoramic views of the downtown, residential area, Christopher Columbus Lighthouse, and the National Presidential Palace. Your best shopping option will be at the colorful market in the colonial zone. Lunch is included at a typical Dominican restaurant. This is an all-day activity (approx. 12 hours total). A lot of walking will be involved of this tour. A brief stop will be made on the midway to Santo Domingo, in order to use the bathrooms. This tour is highly recommended for those who love history and culture. You will also be taken to some local souvenirs shops in the Colonial zone in Santo Domingo. Lunch in this tour has been combined with its contents (culture and history). It will be a traditional Dominican lunch, at a traditional historical restaurant named Atarazana. Please take into account that not shorts will be allowed to enter the church. You can wear long pants, long shorts or skirts, short or long and sleeved thirts or t-shirts. We recommend you to wear comfortable shoes or tennis. Not swimming activity involved in this tour.

Please note that the drive from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo is about 3 hours each way. Long pants/skirts are mandatory to enter to the cathedral. The visit to a gift shop in SD is optional.
